Most shoots last around an hour, but this varies depending on each individual dog, which is why I don’t set specific times. I much prefer to work alongside your dog and be led by them. Achieving their confidence and happiness is my primary goal. I usually say to allow 60-90 mins on location.

Not at all, most leads can be edited out. It’s a good idea to have a thin plain lead as this makes removing the lead much easier and increases the types of shots we can achieve. However, I do ask that harnesses are avoided if you don’t want them in the photos, as these are often too complex to remove.

Bring whatever your dog loves. Treats, a ball, frisbee, anything squeaky. Water if it’s warm. I’ll bring bits along too, but it never hurts to have their favourite toy.

I’m happy to work in all weathers, but let’s face it, rain is not fun for you, me or my equipment. If it’s forecast for bad rain or rain hits heavy during the shoot and we need to stop, we can reschedule at no additional cost. I know it’s rare in the UK, but if the weather is too hot for dogs we can also reschedule for another day at no additional cost.

Dog photo sessions take place outside. The woods, the beach, a park. Maybe you have a favourite place that’s meaningful to you? I’m open to suggestions.

Cat photo sessions take place in your home. I work with natural light so as not to disturb pets with flash, ideally we would need a room or two with good window light. If you cat is happy outside, we can also take some photos in your garden.

Travel within 30 miles of Lancaster, LA1 is included in the session fee.

Harnesses range from difficult to near impossible to remove during the editing stage. I usually suggest leaving harnesses behind if you don’t want them in the photos, but if that’s not possible, let me know and we can discuss options.

My previous rescue dog was very nervous and sensitive, so I understand how difficult it can be. Your pet’s welfare is the most important thing. All of my photography is taken using natural light, so there are no flashes or extra lighting.

There are also a few tricks we can apply, from using a longer lens so I photograph from further away, to using a camera with a completely silent shutter. Please feel free to drop me an email, I’d be happy to discuss options with you.

Up to two pets are included in the session fee. There is a charge of £25 for each additional pet. All pets must be from the same household.

One or two. For dog photo shoots two people opens up more options, you can call the dog to run between you both. In the case where the dog is remaining on lead, someone can hold the lead while the other person catches their attention off camera. More than two people can become distracting for the dog. The same goes for cat photo sessions, where they can become easily distracted.

Travel is free within 30 miles of Lancaster, LA1. Outside of this I charge a small fee of 85p per mile to and from the location. If you live a long way off, please drop me an email and we can chat through alternative options.

1-2 weeks after the session has taken place, you’ll receive an email to view your secure online gallery. From there you will have access to individual products, collections, packages and a full price list.

I really hope you love the images enough that you want to display them in your home, but there is absolutely no obligation or pressure to buy anything. The session fee covers my time on the shoot and subsequent time spent editing and preparing the gallery. Included in the session fee is your choice of 5 digital images, supplied in both High Resolution for printing and Web Resolution for sharing with friends and family.

Once you’ve received your online gallery you have plenty of time to browse through and choose your products (galleries remain live for 30 days). Simply email me with your chosen products and corresponding image numbers and I’ll put together an email invoice.

Once payment is received, your order is prepared and sent to the lab for producing and printing. Depending on which products you choose this can take a few weeks. Please allow 4-6 weeks, although orders are usually dispatched much sooner than that. I always keep you updated with your order’s progress via email, including the tracking number for delivery.
